Dead AIM is a useful add-on of AIM that allows you to remove all those adds and even the AIMToday window. You can also have msn-like slip ups alert you who has signed on or off. Plus you can "clone aim" which lets you sign on with more than one screen name.

thats kind of strange... dead aim doesnt do anything to my computer.

trillion is nice, but it doesnt let you have the tabbed window effect.

I used Dead AIM for, oh, about 2 hours. It is quite unstable causing AIM to crash about once an hour. I prefer Trillian. It allows you to use multiple SN's of AIM, Yahoo, IRC, ICQ and MSN. You can use any or all of these messenging services all at once. One of the nice things is that all buddies are under one buddy list. A quick search on Google will bring up its site where you can DL the software.
