Hey, guys, i have some problem with my microwave,
The microwave thing is working fine but it is also equipped with grill and it doesn't turn on now..
Any idea?
Please help.. |

I assume that you can take the grill element out, do so and check for voltage where the element was, take out and put back all the gill-related plugs, it could be something like a dirty connection.
Follow the wires back to where they terminate, check that there is voltage coming from the control unit, or check before/after a cutout.
At least then you can narrow things down where the fault is. |

Is there a temperature conrol for the grill? If so it will use a temperature sensor of some sort. It may be a simple bimetal switch or a TDR connected to the micro. See if you can trace the wires. |

hmmmm have you made sure your air intake grill aint plugged with dirt and the like? |

Actualy the Grill is not working.. Micro waves are working fine..
So i don't think the fuse is blown.. |

If it is still not working by now try your fuse? It should have a white ceramic one so you'll have to test with a DMM because you wont be able to see if the fuse is blown. |

Draw the wirings or have a picture of them
it will be a lot easier and faster when
re assembling things. |

Well, when you open it there is not much you can damage inside unless you start pulling wires, dropping things inside, poking it while it is on and other dumb stuff like that, just make sure it is as how you found it. However it can some damage to you if the high voltage capacitor is not dischaged carefully.

I dont have a grill in my microwave so I dont know where it will be located, but is should be easy to find the driver board, it will be a PCB with wires, relays and stuff like that on it, It is generally near the controls. There may not be a overtemp cutout.
Also check any internal fuses.

Element is fine..
Wires are also in a very good condition..
The oven is LG made.
what are switch/driver and where is over temp cutout located? |

Check the obvious first, Is the element blown/damaged? Check with a multimeter, or dirty connections?
Is the switch/ driver circuit giving out voltage, overtemp cutout OK? anything look wrong inside?
Oh yeh, remember to dischage the HV cap when you open the case... |
