top and bottom of sony widescreen television have cut themself off soon close ups top of head is mising and writting off bottom of screen is missing any one have any ideas whats wrong, thanks mrst

I would assume its not a hardware problem but rather a setting in the TV such as aspect ratio... Screens have different 'ratio's like 6:3 or 16:9 (my personal choice)... it basically sets the layout of the screen, wide screen, normal, elongated and so forth... its handy though... just check your manual :p
