Can someone help me with the symbols shown in the attached circuit, arrowed 1 and 2. i thought one of them was a symbol for twisted pair. I am not sure of the dashed circle with the arrowed connections on the group of cables. Are the components on the left opto-isolators? It's better to admit you don't know than to remain ignorant.
Also what sources can i use to get the meanings of such symbols. Thanks.

2. may show that the input to the transistor base is a ramp or a triangular waveform.

1 symbolizes that all those wires run within one cable.

2 is a mystery to me. I've never seen it in all my years.
