Hey everyone what's up? Im wanting to build an ohm meter that will show show me each digit for ohms individually up to 100 meg ohms. For instance if the total resistance is 23,891,021 ohms then i want to see each digit. Not where it says its out of range for the hundreds or thousands. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

The minutia involved in a design of that nature would require the assistance of some caltec students and perhaps a professor or two as well.....

I'll be checking back to see if you accomplished the task though.....

No way will it be accurate. I don't know of any component that has a temperature coefficient better than 1 part in 2.38 x 10^7 over the ambient temperature range in a room. And then there's also the slight change due to warming as the component is being measured.

The high bit resolution A/D is only of benefit when comparing readings. It is only as accurate as its voltage reference.

You'll probably be able to get that preceision (maybe jse a high bit ADC connected to a smartphone) but it won't be accurate.

There is no way you can build an instrument with that degree of accuracy - let alone display it!
