I have to make a solar panel which will follow the sun for a school project. The http://www.redrok.com/electron.htm website has some interesting circuits. The most simple one is the Cadmium Sulfide Relay Tracker but I'd like to build the LED1 project.
However, the schematic confuses me. I don't understand why there are 7 leds and how they would be placed according to the panel.

Can anyone shed some light on this schematic? Also, what kind of motor could I use with it?
