Posted - Jun 25 2012 : 6:03:49 PM I have a challenge! I have a 24v motor, two 12v deep cycle batteries wired in series and one 12v alternator on my pickup. My 24v motor only draws off the batteries and I want the 12v system to recharge the batteries. When the vehicle is not moving the 24v motor will draw power.
Q1: How can I build a recharging system without a modern day 12v-24v converter?
Q2: Where can I get a forward/reverse switch that will handle up to 100amp for 5-10 seconds?
Who has the lowest cost solution????

Your forward and reverse can be a big honking DPDT switch, wired to reverse polarity. Or a set of starter solenoids if you want remote operation.
