this time delay circuit looks just like what I need
Can it be adapted to 12 vdc
And when power is turned on I need 0 -10 sec variable time delay
to operate a relay and to stop when power is switched off
Many thanks

I don't know the pinout of your relay either.

Find the coil with your ohmmeter, then use a continuity tester to locate the contacts. Regular old relays are very easy to figure out. Often you can just pop off the case and see the contact configuration and coil connections directly.

The resistor and capacitor that set the time delay.

What is R1 and C1??

It will run on 12V as is. Adjusting the value of R1 and C1 changes the delay time. Check the 555 timer datasheet for the formula to calculate this.
