So, I'm on the road in the usual hot Texas weather, listening to my music at normal levels and my amplifier decides that it wants to turn off. I checked out the fuses, remote wire, and terminals with a volt/multi meter and all checked out ok. Took the amp out wired it up to a 12v benchtop supply and same story, it doesn't want to turn on. It's a cheap amp, American Legacy is the brand and I've got a few pictures if anyone can seem to find out what went wrong. I though maybe there was an internal fuse, or the thermal fuse kicked in, but the power light doesn't even turn on so I'm stumped. Will get pictures on imageshack later today.

Thanks, I'll look into it when I get a chance.

They normally have a DC/DC converter in them to supply about +/- 40V for the amp. It would be around where the green toroids is, check the output from that. I would have thought that around the yellow smoothing caps would be a good test point.

Take the PCB out and check for any bad solder joints, since it it bumped around that could be a possibility.
