hello aaron, my name is george and a student. i am writting a project work on the about subject and need your help. i see your circuit very simply and helpfull in terms of reducing accident.please i need information on the circuit and its operation. even if you can send me a full circuit as it is wired into normall headlight system. hi sir aaron,its me george.

i have been able to constract the automatic headlight brightness switch into the normal headlight system of toyota hilux as my project work in school, which i will be defending it on the 08/10/07 thus coming mornday.
all the thanks goes to you for all the information you sent to me.
i have leant a lot from this.
let me say here that i did not find it easy as i did not sleep for about a week trying to make this work and it has. thank you.


i will talk to you on more of the prject works.

You can use almost any generic phototransistor.

Do a Google search on "voltage divider" and "how pnp transistor works" and you will quickly see how the circuit functions.

thanks aaron, what is the rate or the value of the phototransistor.
sir.aaron i want you to explan that happens in each device from the point at which the light from the oncoming vehicle falls on the phototrannsistor.

The circuit is a very simple PNP transistor switched by a phototransistor, with a voltage divider to set the switch point. Not really a whole lot to explain that isn't clear on the schematic.

The wiring instructions to the headlight system are provided in the notes. This will vary based on the car.
