hi, im working on a tractor as a hobby in my space time respraying ect, i want to add left and right indicators to it but cant find a circuit i need as i know i need relays fuses ect but dont for the life of me know where to start.i did find one but only for a 9v supply, this is no good as im using a 12v heavy duty battery. could any1give me info were i could possibly find somthing usefull or help me out. cheers for reading, dave

Most signal lights are just a switch and a bi-metalic relay. The bi-metalic heats as the current passes through it once the light is tunred on one of the metals expands faster then the other causing the switch to open (thus it flashes). All you need is a two way switch (center off), a fuse, heat activated relay (any automotive shop will have one), some wire and light bulb. Very simple circuit.

If you grab any automotive repair manual, the wiring diagrams section will have an example of how this circuit works. Until recently, basically all signal/indicator circuits were the same.
