Hello all what is the ideal setting for a fan to cut on in a pontiac 87 6000 SE
with a thermastat of 180 degs ?

Most manufacturers set their fan temps pretty high. I would not be surprised if from the factory it was over 200 degrees. But you can use a far more sane level, such as about 195 or so. Maybe 190 if you are worried.
