I've seen buttons just below the handle to car doors, and I've always wanted one for my car..I was wondering if it were possible to get a schematic for some type of circuit to do this. (I'm thinking it might be really complicated -- especially programming the ic)

It's not entirely complicated. There are plenty of kits for "code entry" that make the process simple. For example: http://www.electronickits.com/kit/complete/elec/vek6400.htm

Then all you need to do is retrofit the power lock actuators to your doors (easy).
