My son hit a wall with his Pontiac Sunfire. I was able to straighten everything out, but I don't know how to disarm the signal to the car computer that reads the continuity from the airbag circuits. Does any one know how to do this?

If he set off an airbag and you haven't replaced it, you are getting a signal because the airbag system knows that it is not ready to work. Replacing the bag is expensive, but still cheaper than a day in the hospital for a new driver. Once it has its new bag(s) it will stop nagging you.

If you are getting a winking light on the dash, the quick & dirty "fix" is a little electrical tape. Past that you could locate the wiring for the airbag(s) and see if you could imitate the correct signal. I don't know if a Sunfire expects an open or a closed circuit.

airbags are loud

we set one off in auto mechanics and its like a gun going off

its like your deaf but not dead

guess thats good

ive also heard that the material can burn you because of the friction

I think you bether replace this air bag. If he crash again, the insurance compagny will not pay for any hurts.

The service manual should contain all this information.

A the basic level, you should be able to just pull the airbag fuse.
