Okay, I'm not the brightest bulb in the box, so if the answer to this is complex, please spell it out real easy, yeah? he he

Y'know those trucks that have that totally annoying "Beep Beep" then voice when reversing that goes "Caution.....Vehicle Reversing................caution........ vehicle reversing....." ? Well, I've got a small car (do a google picture search on 'Mini' you'll see what I mean!) and would find it funny in an ironic way to have something similar. I could I guess go to a scrapyard and pillage a truck one, but I'd like a more distinctive voice/message.

Anyone any ideas how to go about making one?!?

(btw Aaron, if this should be in the electronics bit, please feel free to drop it there. Cheers!)

Thanks all!
Mike (",)

Get one of those voice recorder ICs and strobe the play line, then you can have any sound you want.

Well, you can go to your local auto parts store and buy one

They sell them as a replacement for a standard 1156 bulb with which you replace your reverse light. It has a light element as well, so there's no loss there, but it also has a beeper.

Failing that, you want a tone generator, and probably a piezo-electric speaker, (Can be scavenged from an old modem) and a flasher circuit. Probably a pair of 555 timers, one for the tone generator, and one for the flasher circuit would do the trick nicely.
