Posted - Jun 27 2004 : 11:05:35 PM In the doorjamb there will be a small button which should get depressed by closing the door. This is the door's pin switch. In most North American and Japanese vehicles this switch will show a ground when the door is open, and an open circuit when the door is closed.
Most of the time, this is just below the door striker on the car body, but in the occasional instance it will be in between the door hinges.

Posted - Jun 26 2004 : 05:39:04 AM Where exactly is the switch? I'm having the same problem and I've checked to door and can't find any type of button that needs to be depressed.

Well, I would check the door switches and make shure they are not malfunctioning, that is probably the source of the problem.
It could be as simple as a rubber bin comming off and causing the switch not to depress all the way
