Daytime running lights are mandatory on all cars sold in Canada 1990 model year and newer. Older cars are exempt

Rather than a "reminder" buzzer, which I always forget anyway, I created a daytime running light circuit, which turns on the fog lamps on my car any time that the engine is running. If the engine is off, the lights are off. Nothing to remember!

In my case, I'm triggering "engine running" from the alternator output, but in reality, the ignition switch would do just fine. I never leave the ignition in "run" position when the engine isn't running. (This also serves as a visual backup that my car starter is working. :) )

Try this circuit, it is working and very easy to build. You will be success at your aim by this circuit.

Thats a good law, I wish texas would inforce its headlight laws.
Why dont you connect your lights to the ignition switch so that when the car is on then the lights are on, this way you dont have to worry about forgeting to turn them on or off
