Posted - Sep 07 2007 : 12:13:44 AM I'm actually in the design stage of turbocharging a 4.0 Mustang, but found your writeup to be a treasure trove of information! One quick question:
What hose did you use for the oil/water feed lines? It looks like Goodyear 65117, but I can't be sure. Is the oil return just 5/8" heater hose as well?
Thanks! |

The fuel injection line is not designed to handle the pressures or temperatures, and is hard to clamp down without leaks on the typical fittings. If the feed line breaks, your stuck at the side of the road...
Now I'm using -4 braided stainless with AN fittings.
The water feed lines were originally fuel injection line because I had some left over, but I imagine that heater hose would do a better job since it's designed for the internal heat. The fuel injection hose became brittle after a few thousand miles. Currently I'm using Russel -6 "Twist Lock" style hose and fittings for water.
The original oil return was 3/4 (I think) heater hose but it sucked. Broke several times, and the oil made the hose squishy. Now I'm using -10 AN stuff. |
