here's the plan so far and i would LOVE the input of those who have done this before.

my plans:
i have a complete T2 drivetrain from the flywheel back that i plan on using. so that takes cares of the drivetrain issue
i have turbo intake manifolds that have been modified to fit on the 6 port housings, so that should take care of the problems with the "strawberry", and should flow better too. i also have a turbo front cover for the oil return line. i was planning on using a oil adaptor for a pressure/ temperature gauge to supply oil to the turbo.
i have an AFC2 that i was planning on using with a stock T2 ECU and T2 harness (along with all the turbo sensors and everything)

basically i have all the turbo parts but they will be on a 6 port motor. my question to you is what ECU do you think i should use? will the turbo ECU be able to handle the higher compression rotors?

i got the timing right, thanks for all the help aaron. i though you of all people would like to know that my turbocharged 6 port is fully running and i've been driving it for about three weeks now. i have to say, those base maps on the MT are fairly good. rich, but safe (for the most part). i love the way the car pulls st just 5psi, it's great!

Yep...Move the CAS until the orange (or yellow...I forget now...but it's the one you would use to time the leading in stock config) is lined up...I can never get it to line up, so I always end up with an 8 degree advance. For my car, I have built a worm-gear type CAS adjuster that allows much more travel on the CAS then the stock slot.

As for the trailings, I always find it very easy to mix up that wiring, even though it is very simple...

yeah, the trailing ones do not fire while the car is running. it's not a BIG deal as the car will still run, but it would be nice to get some better gas mileage.

anyways. this may sound stupid, but i want to make sure i get this right. i lock the timing on the MT, set my tuning gun to 5 degrees, then just move the CAS till the 5 deg. line matches the mark on the front cover. then unlock the MT and she's done. correct?

The trailings are not firing? Are you testing this at start up? If so, then you will never see them light. The Microtech doesn't fire the trailings until the car is running...

As for timing, I just follow the procedure. I lock the timing, then move the CAS for a 5 degree advance. Normally I can only get to about 8 degrees advance before the CAS is moved as far as it will go, so be prepared to grind the groove in the CAS so you can move it far enough.

car will be painted by the end of tom., microtech is installed and the car is running leak free! V-mount is complete, but i'm gonna revert to a FMIC soon, as i would like to use a stock hood for more of a "sleeper" look.

however, with the good comes the bad...i can't get the secondary coils to fire, but that's not a major issue as the car is still drivable.

Aaron, i know you have worked with microtechs before. what is the CORRECT way to time it? i have read/heard may ways, but i want to know the right way. any help would be great.

yeah, the actual microtech unit is used so hoefully the other person did all that for me, but i'm going to be redoing it anyways so it isn't a big deal if he didn't

The Microtech is a great system for the price. I've installed several (4 I think) and it's pretty straightforward. I always like to solve the "little" problems at the same time like installing more modern connectors, tidying up wiring, etc. Just remember that the stock maps are VERY rich. You'll need to pull quite a bit of fuel out just to get a decent idle...but that's easy anyway.

yup there really is, but do remember i don't have the PS, AC, oxygen pump, radiator hoeses, ect... hooked up yet.

it's not crome, it's hand sanded aluminum. yes i could polish the whole engine, but i think i would be more hassle than it's worth. maybe if it were out of the car, but you won't see that much of the actuall engine anyways

thanks cirvin. i test fitted all the parts yesterday and it looks awsome. it's good to see a turbo under my hood once again, and it will be even nicer to drive it!
