hey all, i'm new here but will hopefully be joining the ranks of you turbo'd N/A guys soon. i was looking at the write up and had an idea. your straberry is horrible, please don't take offence at this, but i think i may have a suggestion. i was looking at all my spare parts and noticed that the stock, cast aluminum turbo "strawberry" has the same bolt pattern as the N/A one. i just happened to have an N/A TB laying around so i tried it out. turns out that the strawberry fits perfectly. the inlet even faces twards the front of the car so it would likely match right of to your intercooler pipes. i currently don't have an N/A, but i'm willing to give a turbo style "strawberry" to any one of you guys that would like to try it out. I'll be trying it on my car as soon as i get it all put together.

not sure, i think i may have PM you on the rx7 forum and that's when you told me. well i hope your engine turns out good. i have a project of my own that i'm sure i'll be asking lots of questions.

Where did you read about the transmission? I don't think I've mentioned it, except in passing. I ended up killing 2 transmissions due to lack of oil, not due to horsepower/turbo stuff. First one lost a rear seal just as I got onto the highway and didn't last long @ 80MPH. Second one had a slowly leaking front seal that killed my clutch, as well as damaging the input and cluster shaft. This transmission has been rebuilt, so it should be good as new.

My car ran great with the turbo system, and the only turbo related problem I had was that my oil return line split twice. Not a big deal, but was marginally annoying. My new design uses a copper pipe, with rubber hose only making the final connection (1 inch) to the turbo. This eliminates all the stress that caused the splitting problem.

The car is not running right now, simply because I pulled the engine to do a bridgeport, and the project turned into basically everything (cleanup and simple paint job of the engine bay, interior restoration, custom driveshaft, wiring cleanup, Microtech, etc.). I don't have alot of time, so the project is taking way too long to complete.

lol, well i though you all would like to know just in case you didn't have one. Aaron, how's the car running? i'm quite interested in doing this and have all the parts, but would like to know if you've had any problems this far? i read that you blew your tranny, but i have a turbo one so that shouldn't be a problem for me.

LOL. Yeah, mine is pretty bad. But it seems to work. I have several of the turbo pieces as well, and yes, they fit. I didn't have one when I made my strawberry so it was not a consideration. I am currently deciding whether I want to replace it or not with a "proper" piece. Doing so may mess up my BOV/strut bar fitment. I can make mine suck less by simply removing the excess inside the throttle body that is not needed when the secondaries are pulled.
