Posted - Oct 16 2009 : 3:17:06 PM Hi. This is my x wife's car (I know; "what a guy") and I have only looked at it once relating to her problem, I mean with the car. A fuse will blow causing the turn signals and the gauges to stop working, and a clicking noise is emanating from the fuse panel. The engine seems to be running well but a alarm sounds after a few minutes of operation.
1. Is this a grounding issue, and are the grounds easy to find and replace?
2. How do I diagnose this issue?
Thank you
Ron Armstrong

Posted - Oct 18 2009 : 10:41:55 AM According to the schematics in my Haynes manual, fuse X-04 (the meter fuse) runs all of that stuff and more. Half the stuff in the dash has somethign to do with the meter fuse so there are a lot of possibilities.
Best bet is to pick up a Haynes manual from the local auto parts store, or download the factory service manual (see the 1st gen FAQ at http://www.rx7club.com) and test each circuit by unplugging specific components until the problem stops.
