Posted - Jul 18 2004 : 02:42:49 AM Hello. My rx-7 turns off fairly frequently when I put it in reverse gear and when the a/c is on. One time it turned off almost 10 times while I was trying to back up into a parking space. The car's idle is fine in P gear, but it surges heavily while driving and stopping. When I decelerate at stop signs, the idle ranges from 100 to 750 rpm. Can the cause be the BAC valve? I recently changed the thermostat with a NAPA one, so that can't be the cause.

Also, go to Mazda and get the proper thermostat. Aftermarket thermostats are never very reliable in RX-7s.
