I am running Firefox under Windows XP. On several occasions, when loading a screen, it has come up with the warning that Firefox is already running and must be closed (or the computer restarted) before continuing.

I can see no way of closing the running application, so have to reboot each time it happens.

Any ideas?

When that happens, check the Task Manager under the Processes tab for Firefox. End the task and see if it works.

This may be happening because of an add-on. Try disabling all add-ons then enabling one by one to isolate the problem.
