Hello!

I have done heaps of reasearch and experimenting and still no luck. How on earth do I create 'new' function instances in JavaScript?

I've been bogged with my studies and the website hasn't been getting much attention from me. When I have time I'll definitely be adding more stuff to it, just FYI.

I highly recommend you view the HD version of this video.

Downloadable:

There is a difference between the two. Look at the filename for a description.

Okay I'm almost done creating a video that shows off multicore rendering. It's very nice.

x10hosting has intermittent FTP access which pisses me off the most.
codingplanet Posted - Aug 30 2009 : 2:06:09 PM
I had lots of trouble with x10hosting - excruciatingly slow site, no FTP access, banned account for no reason. So I use my own web server now :)

"I noticed the CPU use becuase the fan ramped up."

Tell me about it. When my computer takes off, it really does take off. It sounds like a friggin hair dryer... Well maybe not that bad.

Yes, a 1.8 GHz Pentium M. I noticed the CPU use becuase the fan ramped up.

Thanks for telling me dude. I'm using a free web host, and there have been reports on various forums that x10hosting.com provides a very limited bandwidth for its free service. The CPU usage is definatly due to the JavaScript no doubt.

Hey your site looks good.

I also have the cpu problem. Mine jumps from 5% to about 30%. For some reason your site takes ages to load in my web browser. I know my internet is slow but it can't be that slow.
I tested your site in opera and ff, both did the same. I guess I should get a better internet connection.

Thanks for the link.

Yes HT is enabled and shows up in the task manager as 8 CPUs. That's hot!

I'll bet Aaron was looking at my website on a single core, that's why his CPU usage went up so high.

I'm making a video right now related to multicores...

Yes, it acts the same on both my E5200 (Dual) & Q6600 (Quad).

Remember, technically you have 8 threads if HT is enabled.

Not sure about that one, I'll see if I can find anything.

Hmmm.
Aaron, did you open my website on a single core CPU?
Codingplanet, did you open my website on a multicore CPU?

At the homepage there is at least two Javascript processes running at the same time. The timer at the bottom right, and the heading fader (Which will be replaced most likely with an animated GIF).

I noticed a tiny Jump in CPU usage... i7 920 4GHz (Quad core)

BTW the description on the homepage is fictional. I will change it sometime.

Thanks for your input.

Oh yeah I forgot.

I don't have that problem. I tried both IE & FF.
Aaron Cake Posted - Aug 29 2009 : 10:34:30 AM
Looks good. For some reason my CPU useage jumps to 75% as long as the page is open, though.
