I have my account on a Windows 2003 Active Directory Domain, with the one server. DNS etc works fine. The problem is, that when logging on, the little animated progress bar on 'Loading your Personal Settings' freezes for a few seconds at a time, and the window cannot be dragged while the progress bar has frozen, indicating a spike in CPU usage. This really slows down logon. It also happens on logoff with 'Saving your Settings'. This also happens on the server, when logging on through Terminal Services, but as its running Citrix MetaFrame, the Citrix logon box does the same. I thought this might be a profile related issue, so I deleted the profile on the server, and all the locally cached copies on the workstations (and on the server). This didn't work. I then did the same again, and deleted my active directory account. I then made a new account and profile and it all worked great for a few days. Now the same is happening again, why? It has totally baffled me. |

But I cleared it. It's not even that big anymore. My Documents exist on a seperate share outside the profile |

There's your issue.  A roaming profile size increases almost exponentially. All the stuff under your user directory is part of your profile, which is copied over to the local profile when you log in. |
