While on some message boards the other day,I discovered a new hobby.

These nifty little buggers run off a flame from a candle.

Heres a link on how to build one for next to nothing

Sadly,I can not get one major piece of this kit(the diet shake can)They don't sell this stuff down here in New Zealand.

So has anyone built one of these?

Ok..I got some suitable cans.

..On abither note, could a small 2 stroke cylinder and piston(maybe crank and rod aswell) be modified to work.I have lots of small engines.

i'd say that any soft drink can would work. Im from new zealand aswell :-) Just use a Coke can out of a vending machine.

Surly they have beer cans in NZ? Food cans? I would imagine that any light metal cylinder of the appropriate size would work.

You can not buy these drinks over here....You still can buy pepsi,dr pepper, coke e.t.c

Could I prehaps use a weedeater cylinder and piston??I have tonnes of weedeater engines.

They don't sell Pepsi, CocaCola, Sprite, Mountain Dew, Dr. Pepper, etc there?

Perhaps some can of a similar volume like a small paint can or even a peice of metal pipe?
