Hey Aaron, i hate to disturb you, but what kind of things can your mulcher take? I know it will take vines and fruit, but what kind of branch size will break it and what won't? Also, if anyone else can tell me if a 44 gallon drum would work, it would be much appreciated.

Simply install a rubber flap in the chute, or just put in a load of leaves when you mulch branches.

Umm, i read that you said the mulcher would spray debries up to 30ft into the air. Isnt that a little dangerous? Am i going to die????

Thanks a lot. I was going to construct a copy of your mulcher using what i saw on your page. Now i just have to find a 50 hp tractor diesel engine to power it........

I've put branches of about an inch thick through it. It's a but of a struggle, and a little dangerous (flying debris), but it works. If you're going to be chopping up branches often, then you will want to install a metal plate underneath the chute at the leading and trailing edge of the blade. This prevents damage to the wood base the engine is mounted on. Or, get a thick metal plate and don't use the wood, but that increases weight significantly.
Yep, a 55 gallon drum will work quite well. Probably better then the plastic drum I used.
