I want to use your 12 volt controller to replace a bad controller on a 4 wheel mobility cart that had a 100 amp Curtis controller. I know I'll have to use larger relays or put enough smaller ones in parallel to handle the load, already have them ordered. What I'd like to know is: Where would be the best place to install a pot to control speed and what value should it be? I expect I'll fry the existing 100K speed pot. Also, if I add the other relay between A & B, will that add 2 slower or faster speeds? |

This won't work in your case. You have a PWM controller, this is a simple contactor controller. No pots are used in my controller, only a set of switches.
As the schematic page says, adding the extra relay will give you two more speeds: an ultra slow and a medium between slow and fast. But you need a large resistor (on the order of several thousand watts in your case).
I'd suggest you just find a used Curtis or repair the one you have. |
