sorry i posted out of the spudgun forum it looked pretty dead i have tried the piezoelectric sparkers but they keept failing iv been thinking about the coil off a car $10 on ebay but if anyone has a better idea or happen to have a step up coil..... thannks for the help

A simpler circuit would be a relay in a multivibrator configuration but it won't work nearly as well. It takes a train of pulses to drive the coil and produce a continuous spark. Just connecting it to 12V will only produce a spark when it is disconnected.

That circuit is fine on any standard ignition coil. I don't see the problem.

Pretty easy to do with a 555 timer and a MOSFET.
