is it at all possible for one of these pwm ic controllers to go bad in some ways? ka3524a is the controller ic.

this and all the questions has to do with this inverter blowing fets but now i found 2 resistors shorted together where the extra wire from conponents on the under side is supposed to be trimmed off so maybe this will prove to be the culprit.

yup probably made in korea but its under the fair child name.

Any IC can go bad. I think the KAxxxx are made in Korea where they are still learning how to make stuff.
Name brand parts are very reliable.
