I like the circuit. I have been drinking every day for weeks and consequently, I am out of money. Please send me a built circuit and some money so that i may drink and continue with school. Thanks and please hurry. I have a final coming up and there is a wicked good band at the pub down the street and I need beer money and also have no time to work or build this circuit. i will submit this circuit as my own design. Hope you don't mind. Thanks again. |

I am truly amazed at how many of the people placing a comment is willing and able to rip off an idea for which they can claim no credit and pass it off as their own. If you are "studying" electronics study the circuit and draw you own conclusions you lame leeches. Out |

I like the idea of this circuit, however the circuit itself is not designed very well, you basically have to keep calibrating it constantly because it's very sensitive to temperature changes. |

interesting design I am curious if this might also work with a coil of wire wrapped around a specific plug wire or should it be the main ignition coil? |

Can you therefore send me all details of this project, properly written and bound and, of course, a ready working prototype so I can present it as my course project and get top marks.

I have been a Product Design Engineer for 28 years now, and find the Wireless portion interesting. In Reality, you still must hook up a Power source, and for any moving vehicle, It's just as easy to make the other connections as well for a hard wire connection, and without having all that Radior Frequency Static.
Now for a Generator or Stationary Engine, this would be great. |

Wireless Auto Tachometer Alternate Calibration using 50Hz |
Saturday, July 05, 2008 11:44:01 PM |
The above calibration procedure is for 60Hz AC.
Calibrating using a 50Hz 12VAC transformer
If your mains power is 50Hz, set up as per the calibration schematic above, and use this procedure:
Set S2 to 4 cylinders and adjust R5 for a meter indication of 150 (1500 rpm).
Set S2 to 6 cylinders and adjust R6 for a meter indication of 100 (1000 rpm).
Set S2 to 8 cylinders and adjust R7 for a meter indication of 75 (750 rpm).

Hi, interesting project, well done...but will the person/s posting multiple requests under diffrent names please stop. If you have course work to do, do some research and learn something and stop trying to leach some easy grades, also it will help if when requesting that you do not use such a demanding tone as people dont like this. If this work would be used as course work then whom ever uses it should have a sound understanding of how it works just by studying the diagram, if not then it is to advanced for you to be using in your work.

Very nice!!!
I was seraching for a signal conditioning circuit, to sense RPM from the engine.
I'll use this circuit to feed pulses to a micro-processor and capture RPM digitally (torque curve up to a scale factor) (Editor's notes: Also look at the schematics of the Megasquirt project.) |

Hello, sir. Given the fact taht my original car tachometer doesn't work for more that 2 days and i'm really sick and tired of fixing it, I want to build your design. The only problem is that I live in Europe and here we have 220-240V @ 50Hz at mains. Can you please tell me how to calibrate it in these conditions ? Thank you. |

Thanks,
