Hello,

If this is where we can ask questions, then I'm in the right place.
Like several other persons I would like to know exactly how a particular mental wacko-case has been tapping my phone since 1991. He actually brags about doing it to 'certain' persons he works with that don't believe him anyway cuz he's such a wierdo. He's more than proven it to me and my husband is a witness also.
Can someone tell me how he's doing it? I desperately need to somehow get proof of it. He has recorded things said and done in the 'privacy' of my own home, and then sent copies of those recordings to numerous persons in a deliberate attempt to get us in trouble. He cost my hubby at least 2 jobs, and cost me 3. I have not worked since the last one that ended Jan.'04. He also has our SS#'s and any job I try to get, he knows immediately. We have not been free to talk on our landline in years, but I always know when he's trying to tap, cuz he knocks me offline, and no one has this new number in a new place.
Yes, unfortunately, I'm still stuck with slow-ass dial-up. Anyway,
it's always at the exact same time he takes his breaks at work.
He also followed us here after we moved! I know he had bugs in the last place , and now I'm beginning to wonder if there are some in here too. He could've put one in something he knew that we would move with us. He also put a tracking device on my vehicle! I haven't felt free to drive it in years. It just sits, cuz I don't know how to find the damn tracker.
This dude is as dangerously sick as sick can get! He is obsessed and obviously has no intent whatsoever in stopping. His problem is his jealous vindictive vengence. He could not take 'no' for an answer. But I am a decent old-fashioned God-fearing married girl, and absolutely do NOT believe in messing around. This has been difficult for numerous persons I've worked with to accept.
How on earth am I ever going to get proof that he's doing this?
There HAS to be some way. I can't believe that someone can just go on for the rest of my life doing this.
I did what was right and said no, but instead of being rewarded, I have been punished for literally years by this freak.
Can anyone help me?

Ever heard a device called GPS tracking system and are you afraid of being tracked by it? If you want to prevent this thing happen on you, then you it is an ideal choice to come and start your first step with the gps signal jammer, then the problem can be easily solved and you can live relaxed.

What kind of threats? This sounds rather odd. Occasionally I am involved with such a situation (having to examine a former employee's computer for evidence, preventing from accessing certain things, checking for badness after they are fired, etc.) and usually it is all handled very well. An employee is terminated, escorted from the building, and then notified that the police would be involved should anything happen. A business owner afraid to fire someone doesn't make a lot of sense to me...

He's gotten numerous people fired just because they were against him or they were 'in his way'. He got one of my friends fired also, and just because he was my friend, but wacko-dude is too jealous for that!

How does a person get someone else fired?

It is definately a police matter, but they won't listen to me without proof. So that is where Aaron's idea with the cameras is right on. I'm already on that, and hoping to get at least two exterior ones set up within a couple of months.

That's a very long lead time. Last winter I installed a set of exterior cameras at my place and I think the entire job took two hours.

quote:

That's going to be my only way. Everything else I could take photos of, and/or document, but it still doesn't 'prove' that someone else did those things.

Take pictures and recordings of him. If he is mocking you on the phone, record it. If he is on your property, take pictures. Many digital cameras (even cheap ones) have a time lapse feature. Don't lose your cool, be the better person. The last thing you want is for the police to start seeing you as a wacko. Make sure he is the crazy one.

quote:

He once told me over the phone, literally mocking me, saying .."you can't prove anything..."! He laughs about it knowing there's nothing I can do.

There's a lot you can do. But first you need the evidence.

quote:

That's why I was wondering if there's a way to find out how someone's tapping a phoneline. You'd think there would be. I may have to actually hire an investigator to find out.eek!

There is a way, but if you don't have the technical knowledge then it's going to be very difficult. It's a bit like asking "how do I build a house" without knowing how to drive a nail. Anyone with some electronics knowledge could ID any suspicious devices on your line. Maybe take pictures and post them here?

But it sounds like he is a security guard in your building? In which case he could simply be using the PBX system as it is designed. Unless it keeps logs then there is no evidence.

quote:

I've also thought of buying a bug detector that also tells when there's a tap on the phoneline and is also supposed to find a vehicle tracker bug!

I highly, highly doubt that there is a "vehicle tracker bug" installed on any of your vehicles. Such a thing is totally impractical and very expensive. It would need an antenna to speak to the cell towers, and a good antenna to hear the GPS signal. So it would need to be installed in such a way that it's antennas are visible from above the car. GPS signals are easy to block...even the dashboard my interfere so there would need to be an antenna somewhere. It should be an easy task to look underneath the car, under the seats, under the dash, etc. to find any strange devices. But again, you need to know what you are looking for.

About the part on the bug detector...i think that there is one on this site. I also seem to remember reading that it would just hold the phone off the hook... You could think about building one and asking help about the problems. Or, you could do it the easy, less fun way...and go buy one. I don't think that there is a way to find out what the number is. I may be wrong...but i don't thinnk so. Do you live in a neighborhood or private community? You said that it knocks you off when he taps in. You also said that it was when he was at his desk. So, if he has physical access...Is he a security guard? Then of course...you were also a security guard at you private community. If what i'm reading is right.

It would be VERY difficult for him to "tap" your dial up Internet. It would be far easier to just install a keylogger on the computer, since it seems he may have physical access.

If you can't keep him off your property, install cameras. Less then $300 at the local home improvement store will buy a nice set. Then simply show the tapes to the police. Gathering physical evidence is the easiest way to make people believe. Record the disturbances on your phone, take pictures of any vandalism, etc. Then arrange all into a well organized report and bring it to the appropriate agency at the local police station.

Change the locks.

If you want to find out if you are bugged, then you can go hunting yourself for any strange devices connected to the phone lines in the house, outside the house or in the phones themselves. If you don't know what you are looking for then this can be fairly pointless. Most communities have a spy store private investigator section in the phone book so it may be worth simply hiring someone to make sure you are "clean". The fee won't be too large and certainly less of an issue then dealing with the crazy person. If he "knocks you off" the Internet when he taps the line then whatever he's using is very crude and going to be easy to find. Bugs can be found fairly easily with the right equipment.

Sounds like the kind of person who need to visit the funny farm. My suggestion is move to Canada... hahaha could'nt help it I had to say it because you're from the states; only kidding though... I don't know if you're a little paranoid or not but it is a thing for the police to handle. If you need proof for them to get involved then you need to be smarter then him to get the proof you need. You could try filing for a restraining order. One of the guys I went to highschool with was charged with rape and the girl filed a restraining order that stopped him from going to school for a semester.. It was all a lie but if that is all she needed to file for one then I'd try it. What do you have to loose?

If you're using dial-up...He can read that too. If he knows what to do. You should sell the car. Buy a new one, keep it in a garage(Locked). If he's tapping you're phone...then he's either going through the phone company, or he's got a physical tap. The physical tap would either be on the incoming phone line, or in your network interface box.(usually in the outside next to the power meter)It's a green box. Usually locked. How did he get you're social security number?
